U.S. Army veteran and double amputee Noah Galloway is arguably the most inspirational contestant to ever grace the ballroom on “Dancing With the Stars.” Despite losing his left arm and leg in Iraq in December 2005, “No Excuses Noah” continued to shock and inspire viewers with his innovative dances each week -- courtesy of imaginative choreographer and professional dance partner Sharna Burgess.

Hour before they approached the finale of Season 20, Burgess took to Instagram to send a special message to her partner. “Whatever happens ... I've had the time of my life,” she said. Burgess shared a black-and-white photo of her and Galloway dancing.

Though her message was succinct, Burgess, 29, elaborated about her season with Galloway, 33, in a blog post for Closer Weekly Tuesday. She said that doing “DWTS” with the Army veteran has been more than just a job for her; it’s been a journey. She said it was a “gift” to know Galloway and that “he will always be my hero.”

Burgess also went on to thank their fans. “To my Team Shway fans: Thank you for your continuous support and belief in Noah and me! I love and adore each and every one of you -- your love and support have kept us going and, for that, we cannot thank you enough. Noah and I would love to take home the Mirror Ball trophy, but have won something much bigger regardless,” she wrote. “ 'DWTS’ is not just a TV show, but a journey, and this experience with Noah has been a gift-- he will always be my hero.”

Galloway, who also seems to treasure his friendship with Burgess, shared her blog post on his official Twitter page. He even added that he’s been able to walk better since his partner taught him how to dance.

Don’t miss the final episode of the “Dancing With the Stars" when it airs on ABC Tuesday night 9 p.m. EDT. Good luck to Noah and Sharna!
