Tesla will demonstrate its battery swap technology tonight, but will there be a live stream to watch? Reuters

A tweet from Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk let the world know that Tesla will finally show the world its battery pack swap technology. According to the tweet, the demonstration will take place at 8 p.m. PST at the Tesla design studio in Hawthorne, Calif. For people that can’t attend, the popular question is whether or not there will be a live stream of the demo.

Unfortunately, it looks at this point that Tesla will not live stream the event. Musk stated in a follow-up tweet that those attending the event will see it first. A video of the event will be posted to the Tesla website around 9:30 p.m. PST.

Not much is known about how this battery swap service will take place, but it is expected to address the concerns about the 200- to 300-mile limitation of Tesla vehicles. As the International Business Times previously reported, the service is expected to change the 990-pound lithium ion battery pack in less than 20 minutes, but many questions still remain.

If a live stream is made available, IBTimes will update this page with either a link or an embed of the live stream. If there is not a live stream, IBTimes will update this page with the video when it is made available.
