Tracy Morgan’s leg will not be amputated, despite rumors that the “30 Rock” star would lose one of his limbs, his spokesman told USA Today Monday. But Morgan remains in "critical but stable” condition two days after he was hurt in a crash on the New Jersey Turnpike.

“Rumors about amputating his leg are completely fabricated. As we shared yesterday, Tracy had surgery on his broken leg. We are working closely with the incredible staff at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital to share information when it is available. This recovery will be arduous, and we hope that you can be patient during this difficult time,” the statement from Lewis Kay read.

"His fiancée Megan is by his side. The concern for his well-being has been overwhelming, but Megan is respectfully asking that the media await official word through these channels before speculating (mostly inaccurately) on his condition," Kay added.

Morgan’s friend and mentor, comedian James McNair, known by his stage name “Jimmy Mack,” was killed in the accident, it was revealed Sunday. He was 62.

Morgan reportedly cried out for assistance after the crash, Tyrone Gale, who was driving the limo bus with the comedians in tow, told ABC News after his vehicle flipped over.

“I climbed around and heard Tracy screaming for help," Gale told the news site. "I climbed up on the body of the limo bus … but I couldn't reach them."

Wal-Mart truck driver Kevin Roper, 35, faces charges after it was revealed he had not slept for 24 hours before the fatal crash. He is currently free on $50,000 bail and stands accused of death by auto and four counts of assault by auto. His hearing is on Wednesday, the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office said.
