The Green Goblin will be making his way to “The Justice League.” Well, not really but the man who once played him will be. Willem Dafoe has joined the all-star cast of the upcoming DC Universe movie.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dafoe has landed roles in both “Justice League” films where he will be “joining the good guys.” However, the exact details of the Dafoe’s role are being kept under wraps by the studio, which means there’s a chance he could be the villain.

If Dafoe really is playing a good guy, there’s a chance he could be Harvey Bullock. Bullock is a crooked police officer at first, but eventually become a good cop that works along with Police Commissioner Jim Gordon and Batman. Dafoe has portrayed a fan-favorite officer of the law before when he was Paul Smecker in 1999’s “The Boondock Saints.” It would be interesting to see him take a role like this again, especially alongside J.K. Simmons, who is playing Gordon in “Justice League.” The part of Bullock has recently been played by Donal Logue on Fox’s “Gotham.

He could also be playing a good guy fans have not been introduced to yet, like the President of the United States or some type of military general. There is also a chance that he could be cop other than Bullock, like Carlos Alvarez. Alvarez (JW Cortes) has also appeared on “Gotham.

Warner Bros. could be also be trying to fool DC fans by saying Dafoe will be a good guy, when he could once again play the role of villain. Dafoe was the Green Goblin in 2002’s “Spider-Man,” so it’s not like he hasn’t been a comic book villain before. The rumored bad guy for “Justice League” is Darkseid, who is one of the biggest foes for the superhero team. Darkseid is from the planet Apokolips and is dead set on taking over the entire universe. Could Dafoe either voice or star as this DC baddie?

“Justice League” will be a two part film that will tell the story of superheroes Superman (Henry Cavill), Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Risher) and their fight against a severe threat. “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” director Zack Snyder will direct the films.

“The Justice League Part 1” is expected to hit theaters on Nov. 17, 2017. Who do you think Dafoe will play? Soundoff in the comments section below!
