Though defending champion and world No. 1 Andy Murray enters Wimbledon as the top seed for the first time in his career, he is not the favorite to win the Grand Slam. According to betting side Bovada, Roger Federer, who skipped the French Open, has the best odds of capturing the title.

Federer, 35, enters as the third seed and has +200 odds of winning the title. On Sunday, the Swiss star won the grass-court Gerry Weber Open, in Halle, Germany, for the ninth time.

"I played unbelievably well," said Federer of his performance in final. "I felt good and never let up. It was my best game this week. Nearly everything worked out for me."

The victory also marked the fourth title for Federer in 2017. He has been in strong form this year, beginning with his victory in the Australian Open.

Murray enters Wimbledon with the second-best odds at +350. The Scot had a strong showing at Roland Garros, reaching the semifinals and outlasting some tough competitors. At the Championships is where Murray looks most at home. He has won Wimbledon twice and has successfully reached the quarterfinals every year since missing the tournament in 2007.

Murray is followed by French Open champion Rafael Nadal (+400), who is seeded fourth and Novak Djokovic (+600), who is seeded second.

Nadal is having a resurgence in 2017 but has not performed well at Wimbledon in recent years. Since 2012, Nadal has failed to advance beyond the fourth round. However, Nadal has won the tournament twice and reached the final three other times.

While Nadal looks invigorated this year, Djokovic has remained mired in a slump. He has just a 24-7 record in 2017 and has not looked sharp in the Grand Slams, falling in the second round at the Australian Open and in the quarterfinals of the French Open.

Djokovic has traditionally performed well at Wimbledon. But he will be looking to rebound from a lackluster effort in 2016, when he was eliminated by Sam Querry in the third round.

The rest of the field is greatly separated from the top four players. Stan Wawrinka is seeded fifth and has +2,500 odds. Sixth-seeded Milos Raonic, who reached the final in 2016, has the fifth-best odds at +1,400.

Juan Martin del Potro, who reached the third round last year, is listed at +2,800. Jack Sock has the best odds of any American at +10,000.

Wimbledon begins on July 3 and the ends on July 16.
