Lin Bin, the co-founder of Xiaomi has revealed an image of Xiaomi Mi 4 handset running on Windows 10 Mobile along with an alleged release date of Dec. 3. MIUI.com

The Windows 10 Mobile ROM was rolled out for beta testers with Xiaomi Mi 4 handsets in June. The ROM is now finally ready, and it will be released for Xiaomi Mi 4 handsets Thursday.

According to MIUI Forums, Lin-Bin, the co-founder of Xiaomi, has posted an image of the Xiaomi Mi 4 with Windows 10 onboard on Weibo. The post also carries the Dec. 3 date which indicates that the ROM will be finally released on the purported date.

The idea behind building the ROM is that Microsoft wants to bring its new Windows 10 Mobile OS to numerous devices. There are numerous smartphones and tablets running on Android OS. The Windows 10 Mobile ROM will let Android users to try the new OS and ultimately switch to it.

The news of the imminent release of Windows 10 Mobile ROM has arrived few weeks after the release of the 10.586 build of Windows 10 Mobile. The build is said to be almost final or RTM edition of the operating.

Initially, the Windows 10 Mobile ROM will be made available to Xiaomi MI 4 owners. The reason why the Redmond giant decided to work with Xiaomi for building the ROM is that its customers are known for providing constant feedback to software updates. However, speculations are rife that Microsoft will soon reveal a list of Android devices that will support its Windows 10 Mobile ROM, Phone Arena reported.

The Xiaomi Mi 4 handset was launched last year. Since it is expected to be replaced by the Xiaomi Mi 5, it is now available with a budget price tag while also carrying impressive specs. The handset features 5-inch full HD display, a Snapdragon 801 SoC, 3 GB of RAM, native storage options of 16 GB and 64 GB, 13-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel selfie camera, Wi-Fi, 4G LTE and 3,080 mAh battery.
