Windows 10 is now an official sponsor of BlizzCon 2015 -- game developer and publisher Blizzard Entertainment’s annual convention -- director of programming for Xbox Live Larry Hryb announced in a blog post.

This year BlizzCon will be held in Anaheim, California, Nov. 6-7. As part of the partnership, fans for the first time will be able to watch the opening ceremony live on Xbox One through the Xbox Live Events interactive (XLEi) app.

“I will be attending BlizzCon 2015 this year and look forward to seeing Windows 10 sponsoring one of the biggest PC gaming community events,” Hryb said in the post.

Each year at BlizzCon Blizzard announces new games and expansions, with demos of upcoming games available to play on the floor. This year will also see the world championship eSports competitions for “StarCraft 2,” “Heroes of the Storm,” “Hearthstone” and “World of Warcraft,” with players fighting over millions of dollars in prizes.

BlizzCon 2015 will be Blizzard Entertainment’s ninth convention, ahead of “StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void’s” release on Nov. 10 and the much-anticipated beta for its upcoming first-person shooter “Overwatch.”

More details about the Windows 10 BlizzCon 2015 sponsorship and Xbox One live streaming will be announced soon, Hryb said.
