Winona Ryder sells LA home for tidy profit

Actress Winona Ryder has sold her Sunset Strip-area California celebrity home for a cool million dollar profit. According to the Sarasota Herald Tribune February 20, 2011 (a Florida resort area newspaper), “Actress Winona Ryder has sold her Sunset Strip-area home [in the Hollywood, California area of Los Angeles] for $3,725,000.

The 1936 Spanish-style house sits behind a thick hedge of ficus trees on 1/3 acre of land. Bougainvillea and wisteria cover the entrance and balconies of the 3,765 Square foot villa, in which original features include Malibu tiles, a curved staircase and Art Deco bathrooms.

The kitchen and breakfast room open to a patio and swimming pool. The living room and pub overlook the front yard of the four bedroom, four bathroom villa. Ryder bought the property in 1998 for $2,600,000 in 1998 according to the public records. The news sales figure comes from the California Multiple Listing Service records for Realtors.
