An arrest citation obtained by WKYT reported that the altercation occurred after Wooten saw her husband in a vehicle with another woman. According to WKYT:

“The report goes on to say that Wooten pulled her husband out of the vehicle and began beating him. The other woman left in her car. Police say that woman looked back and noticed the man was on fire and called 911.”

The man was reportedly flown in critical condition from a local hospital to one in Cincinnati, where he was treated for burns that covered more than half of his body, according to the Associated Press Tuesday. It was not immediately clear the scope of injuries the man suffered before being transported to the hospital.

Wooten was arrested in London, Kentucky by Detective Kyle Gray around 9:35 p.m. Monday evening, according to a post on the Facebook page for the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies were dispatched after “after an investigation was conducted by detectives and deputies regarding a domestic violence complaint.”

“When deputies arrived at the scene, they learned that apparently Vera Wooten had poured gasoline on her husband and set him on fire following a domestic dispute and an altercation,” read the post. “She then allegedly drove him to St. Joseph Hospital London for treatment. Cincinnati's burn center sent their helicopter to St. Joseph Hospital London to transport the victim to their burn center since it is specially equipped for burn patients.”
