A Dallas-bound flight originating in Brazil had to be diverted to Houston after a 25-year-old woman died on the plane.

The American Airlines Flight 962 from Sao Paolo was rerouted to Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston around 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday for a medical emergency, My Fox Houston reported.

The woman, whose name has not been released, did not show any visible signs of trauma, a spokeswoman for the Houston Police Department said. The woman's body was scheduled to be examined by the County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Flight 962 was carrying more than 200 passengers and a 14-person crew. After the woman’s body was removed from the Boeing 777, the airplane continued to Dallas, where it landed around 10:30 a.m.

The plane had departed Sao Paolo around 1 a.m. local time, the Associated Press reported.
