Sunday marks World Suicide Prevention Day 2017 and it is considered to be a day to raise awareness about suicide prevention and an attempt to change lives of thousands of people before it is too late to do something.

This day was first commemorated in 2003 by the International Association of Suicide, this is the 15th year of World Suicide Prevention Day. This year’s theme is, "Take a minute, change a life."

People will celebrate this day with several activities around the world to raise awareness about suicide, including the event International Association of Suicide Prevention’s cycle around the world. Participants cycle to support this day, if you want to contribute, you can register yourself here.

According to WHO, almost 800,000 people across the world die by suicide every year and at least 65,000 people attempt suicide each year and a hundred others think about death by suicide. World Suicide Prevention Day aims to raise awareness and engage in conversation so that people can be saved.
