Harry Patch, the last surviving British veteran from World War I, died at age 111 at his care home in Wells, England.

Patch died peacefully, Britain's Ministry of Defence said, according to CNN on Saturday.

Patch did not speak about the war until he turned 100 years old, the Ministry said, according to the report.

Patch married twice and both wives died. With his first wife he had two sons who also died.

On July 18, Henry Allingham, also a British veteran from World War I died at age 113 during his sleep at his care home in Ovingdean England.
