WWDC 2012: MacBook Pro Launch News Is Past; Apple Might Unveil iPad Mini...Really? Apple

Even after Steve Jobs' dismissal, it seems Apple has not trashed the idea of a mini iPad. Again rumors are rife that the company is planning to launch a miniature, 7-inch Apple tablet at this year's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) that will kick off on June 11.

While the four-day long event is expected to see the launch of some great devices like MacBook Pro (2012), iTV and some software like iOS 6 and iTunes 11, the release of another revolutionary (at least for Apple) device, the iPad Mini is also expected.

This time the WorldNewsResource has reported that Apple might finally launch its long-awaited and highly-anticipated iPad Mini at this year's WWDC.

Rumors of a miniature iPad were always present, even before the launch of the first iPad in 2010. While the first rumor struck us in September 2009, after many years' never-dying speculations, it is finally expected to be coming this year.

CNET, in April, citing a Chinese website NetEase (translated by Kotaku), reported that a smaller version of the Apple iPad is all set to hit markets in the third quarter. The report also mentioned that six million units will be ready for launch with a price tag of $249 to $299. And the new line of iPad will counter attack the upcoming Windows tablets.

In February, the Wall Street Journal also made a similar claim that a source had confirmed that Apple was testing the new, smaller screen line of tablets.

According to TechRadar, the mini iPad will sport a 7.85-inch display sporting 1024 x 768 pixels display resolution, similar to that of the iPad 2 and original. The new and small iPad will also be notably thinner and lighter than its predecessors. And, it is highly possible that the new iPad will come with the iOS 6, Apple's next generation iOS version, which is also expected to be released at the same WWDC event. And, according to the latest rumor, the new ipad along with MacBook Pro 2012 will come with liquidmetal.
