WrestleMania 29
John Cena got redemption for last year's WrestleMania loss with a win against The Rock. wwe.com

WrestleMania 29 proved to be one of the biggest events in WWE history on Sunday night.

The Pay-Per-View event was the highest-grossing live event in the company’s history, raking in $12.3 million. The 80,676 fans in attendance also set a record for MetLife Stadium. Only WrestleMania 3 was seen by more people.

The event itself went very much as expected. Almost every WWE superstar that was favored won their match, with Mark Henry’s defeat over Ryback being the only upset.

In the night’s final match, John Cena won his rematch with The Rock to reclaim the WWE title for the first time in almost two years. Triple H and the Undertaker were victorious in the other two main events.

Below are the complete results for WrestleMania 2013, as well as a recap of each match.

John Cena OVER The Rock (WWE Championship)

Three “Rock Bottoms” were not enough for the champ to retain his title. After The Rock failed to kick out of an “Attitude Adjustment,” the rivals shook hands in the middle of the ring. Cena was booed heavily throughout the entire match and the crowd had a mixed reaction when the two walked backstage together.

The Undertaker OVER CM Punk

The Undertaker extended his WrestleMania streak to 21-0 in what was, probably, the best match of the night. The crowd was never louder, as both wrestlers received cheers. Punk almost pinned the Undertaker after using the urn as a weapon, but a second “Tombstone” helped the “Dead Man” remain undefeated.

Triple H OVER Brock Lesnar (No Holds Barred)

Paul Heyman went 0-2 on the night as Lesnar lost his rematch from SummerSlam. For the second time since his return to the WWE, the former UFC champion was pinned on the steel steps in the middle of the ring. With Shawn Michaels in his corner, the victory means we haven’t seen the last of Triple H.

Alberto Del Rio OVER Jack Swagger (World Heavyweight Championship)

Having Zeb Coutler ringside wasn’t enough to help Swagger pull out the win. Del Rio forced the challenger to tap out, giving him a three-month long title reign.

The Shield OVER Randy Orton, Sheamus, Big Show

The Shield opened WrestleMania 29 with another win at a PPV. A spear from Roman Reigns on Orton helped the trio remain unbeaten since their debut at Survivor Series. The expected Orton heel turn never occurred. Instead, Big Show hit both of his teammates with a knockout punch, once the match was over.

Mark Henry OVER Ryback

For a sixth straight PPV, Ryback was unable to pick up a victory. He got a measure of revenge on Henry by delivering a “Shell Shock” when the match was finished.

Team Hell No OVER Dolph Ziggler & Big E Langston (Tag Team Championship)

Daniel Bryan and Kane remained the only tag team champions in 2013 with their victory over Ziggler and Langston. Bryan ended the match with a flying head-butt to Ziggler from the top rope. That was Ziggler’s last appearance at WrestleMania 29, as he did not attempt to cash-in his Money in the Bank contract.

Fandango OVER Chris Jericho

The newest heel in the WWE won his first ever match as Fandango made his debut in front of over 80,000 people. Jericho was pinned with a rollup after he was unable to lock in the “Walls of Jericho.”

The Miz OVER Wade Barrett (Intercontinental Championship Pre-Show Match)

Barrett tapped out to the “Figure Four Leg Lock” before WrestleMania 29 officially started. It was the only match on the pre-show.
