There is always the fear of a letdown in the aftermath of WrestleMania, and WWE is hoping to avoid that with their first pay-per-view of the new wrestling season. Payback 2017 is scheduled for Sunday night in San Jose, California as the first big show following WrestleMania 33.

Payback starts with the pre-show at 7 p.m. EDT, followed by the PPV at 8 p.m. EDT. Watching the event on PPV costs $54.99, but fans can see a live stream of the event with WWE Network. The network costs $9.99 per month, though new subscribers get the first month free.

Enzo Amore and Big Cass will take on Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson on the pre-show, while seven other matches will take place on the PPV. Four titles will be on the line, though the expected main event doesn’t involve a championship.

While Payback is a “Monday Night Raw” PPV, there will be some “SmackDown Live” performers on the card. Bray Wyatt is challenging Randy Orton in a rematch of their WWE Championship match, though it looks like the title won’t be on the line Sunday night. United States Champion Kevin Owens will be joined by Chris Jericho on “SmackDown Live” if the challenger can win their title match.

In addition to those two WrestleMania 33 rematches, Neville will defend his Cruiserweight Championship against Austin Aries. Matt and Jeff Hardy beat Sheamus and Cesaro in a ladder match at WrestleMania 33, and they’ll compete against each other Sunday night in a traditional tag team match. Enzo, Cass, Anderson and Gallows were also part of that ladder match.

Roman Reigns beat Braun Strowman at Fastlane on March 5, becoming the first and only WWE superstar to pin the big man since he made his debut on Aug. 24, 2015. Strowman is expected to get his revenge, potentially setting up a match between himself and Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship in the not-too-distant future.

A few WWE superstars could soon be turning heel, and at least one turn has the chance to occur at Payback. Matt Hardy has been teasing the return of his “broken” character on Twitter, and it might not be long before The Hardy Boyz reintroduce what they had been doing in TNA. Sasha Banks isn’t on the Payback card, though she’s bound to eventually turn on Bayley, who will defend her Raw Women’s Championship against Alexa Bliss.

Dean Ambrose and The Miz recently joined the “Monday Night Raw” roster, though they aren’t scheduled to have matches on the card. The Miz will interview Finn Balor as part of a “Miz TV” segment during Payback, and the host might feud with Ambrose over the Intercontinental Championship in the coming months.
