To give performers time off for the holidays, WWE taped all of this week’s programming last week. This Friday’s "SmackDown" will see Big Show backing out of a match with Alberto del Rio and Sheamus knocking the Giant out, reports NoDQ.

The angle between Big Show and Sheamus has been going on for months now, and it appears that WWE is trying to inject Alberto del Rio into the World Heavyweight Title picture as well. The World’s Largest Athlete wouldn’t face Del Rio under other circumstances, being that both performers are heels.

It seemed that The Mexican Aristocrat could be turning face, but after the Christmas episode of “Raw” on Monday, that doesn’t appear to be the plan. The match did come about after Show attacked Richardo Rodriguez, whom Del Rio has protected in the past.

The Show vs. Del Rio match was cut short when the World Heavyweight Champion decided to leave the ring, but was forced back in by the rest of the roster. Sheamus storms in and hits Big Show with a Brogue Kick.

WWE Superstar-Wannabe Brad Maddox was also beaten by Sheamus earlier in the night. Maddox’s match with The Great White was his latest attempt to win a WWE contract.

Former World Champions The Miz and Dolph Ziggler faced off in a one-on-one match, but the Awesome One lost after a distraction from Big E. Langston. This is only the latest time Langston has helped the Showoff; Ziggler, the two men and A.J. Lee look like they have formed a stable.

Wade Barrett and Rhode Scholars teamed up for a six-man tag team match against Kofi Kingston, Kane, and Daniel Bryan. Barrett, Rhodes and Sandow won over the intercontinental and Tag Team Champions when Barrett pinned Kingston.

The night also featured three quick matches. Brodus Clay beat Epico, Antonio Cesaro put Zack Ryder away, and The Usos defeated The Prime Time Players. Jimmy and Jay Uso had the biggest victory, since their long-running tag team hasn’t seen much success.
