John Cena may be expanding his career from the WWE ring to feature films, but he isn’t ready to work behind the camera just yet.

Prior to winning Action Star of the Year at CinemaCon’s Big Screen Achievement Awards in Las Vegas last week, Cena dished about the possibility of him becoming a director.

“A far as me directing, I’m trying to surround myself with great people in all aspects of filmmaking and a great director is certainly a piece that is going to help me learn this industry,” Cena said during a press conference attended by International Business Times.

Cena is certainly expanding his acting career, starring in Amazon Studios’ war drama “The Wall” and 20th Century Fox’s animated film “Ferdinand,” but he acknowledges he is “by no way shape or form even close” to “sitting in a director’s chair.”

While he may not be ready to head a film, Cena know he’s more than just an action star after years of work in the WWE. “Don’t judge a book by its cover,” he said when asked about expanding his acting resume.

“I love a good story just like all of you. We pack into these theaters to be entertained. I come from a storytelling business and not all of my stories have to end with good, big, indestructible guy knocking down the walls to save the day,” he said. “I love the stories that I’m involved with and I feel as if I could tell them.”
