Former WWE superstar Chris "The Masterpiece" Masters seemed more like a superhero than a professional wrestler on Wednesday.

Masters, whose real name is Chris Mordetzky, reportedly saved his mother from a burning building, TMZ reports. Masters became aware of the situation after a phone call from his uncle, who informed him that a neighbor had “gone crazy” and barricaded himself inside of his mother’s Los Angeles home.

When Masters arrived to confront the situation, the unhinged man threatened to burn down the house if anyone attempted to gain entry. According to TMZ, Masters tried to reason with the assailant, who refused to negotiate. The 30-year-old former pro wrestler then called the cops, prompting the neighbor to make good on his threats and set the house ablaze.

Rather than wait for police to handle the situation, the 265-pound Masters decided to demonstrate that his muscular frame wasn’t just for show. TMZ reports that Masters ripped a tree out of the ground with his bare hands, and used the object to break open one of the house’s windows. He then jumped through the opening and pulled his mother from the inferno before she could sustain any injuries.

In the aftermath of the heroic act, Masters took to Twitter and informed his 45,000 followers about the amazing turn of events.

"[I] pulled down a tree to bust my mom's windows open and get her out of the house," Masters wrote on Twitter. "Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. A**hole got his from me!!! And is in jail as I type this. Moms resting comfortably with me at my place."

As for the man behind the attack, police took him into custody and slapped him with arson charges. It's still unclear what prompted the neighbor's meltdown.
