WWE’s biggest event of the summer is just days away, as SummerSlam 2014 is scheduled for Sunday night in Los Angeles. It’s the company’s biggest pay-per-view since WrestleMania 30.

The PPV has been built around the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match, which will pit John Cena against Brock Lesnar. It’s Lesnar’s first match since he defeated The Undertaker at WrestleMania 30, ending his 21-0 undefeated streak.

SummerSlam marks the first time that all three former members of The Shield will be featured in singles matches. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins were scheduled to fight at Battleground, but the match never took place after Triple H ejected Ambrose from the building.

A few top superstars don’t have a match scheduled for the PPV. Cesaro, United States Champion Sheamus and The Usos, who hold the tag team belts, are not on the card, though matches could be added later in the week.

Following the most recent edition of “Monday Night Raw,” eight matches are included on the match card. Below are predictions for SummerSlam 2014.

John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar (WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match)

It appears that WWE is ready to put Vince McMahon's decision to end The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak to good use by giving Lesnar the company’s biggest title. The build to this match has made it feel like one of WWE's biggest fights in years, and Lesnar will likely go over and continue to be an unstoppable force. It’s unclear how long Lesnar could hold the title, given that he’ll remain a part-time wrestler, so a Cena victory is still possible.

Prediction: Brock Lesnar

Brie Bella vs. Stephanie McMahon

WWE has given this feud as much attention as any of this summer's feuds, other than the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match. The two women should have a lengthy match, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Daniel Bryan appear in support of Brie. Stephanie won’t win clean, but she could come out on top with some assistance, possibly from Nikki Bella, who could be poised for a heel turn.

Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton

Both Reigns and Orton had big nights on the go home show of “Raw.” Orton hasn’t had a PPV win since Elimination Chamber, and his losing streak is likely to continue. Reigns’ push will continue into 2015, and he might not suffer many clean losses along the way.

Prediction: Roman Reigns

Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins (Lumberjack Match)

Ambrose got the better of Rollins on Monday, which could point to a victory for the heel at SummerSlam. The match could go either way, and their feud could conclude at Night of Champions with Rollins’ Money in the Bank briefcase on the line.

Prediction: Seth Rollins

AJ Lee vs. Paige (Divas Championship Match)

Paige has wreaked havoc on AJ since their match at Battleground, beating her up and distracting her to the point where she even lost a match to Eva Marie. On Sunday, Paige should get her comeuppance.

Prediction: AJ Lee

Jack Swagger vs. Rusev (Flag Match)

The flag match is the perfect situation for Rusev to pick up his first loss, considering he doesn’t have to be pinned or tap out. The “Real American” should get the best of his opponent, before the feud concludes at Night of Champions next month.

Prediction: Jack Swagger

Chris Jericho vs. Bray Wyatt

It will be difficult for Wyatt to get a victory with assistance from his family, considering Erick Rown and Luke Harper have been banned from ringside. Still, Jericho won the first match between the two, and a win for Wyatt might be the easiest bet on the entire card.

Prediction: Bray Wyatt

The Miz vs Dolph Ziggler (Intercontinental Championship Match)

Ziggler finally has a meaningful feud, after languishing at the bottom of the mid-card for much of the past year. Still, it’s hard to believe that WWE will give him their No.2 title.
