Simon Cowell, the creator of X Factor is all set to add a dash of oomph by bringing Mariah Carey to the show. While he had stated earlier in in April that she would have a small role in the show premiering this September, it now looks like she is in for a full-time stint with the reality show.
Initially Mariah was said to be roped in to mentor the contestants for a few episodes, but now apparently Simon is out to get her on board for a full season. Her pregnancy posed a barrier before, but since she has delivered now, Cowell is keen to have Carey star in his live shows. "She'll be involved in some form," Cowell said recently, adding, "I literally adore her. I love her to bits."
When asked if Cheryl Cole was let off the show because she wasn't getting along well with Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell replied, "If it was a question of not getting along with Paula, then I wouldn't be on the show... We felt Cheryl was going to be more comfortable doing the UK show, which I offered her and she initially accepted but then things fell apart during negotiations."
With Mariah Carey all set to enter X Factor and Nicole Scherzinger in as the replacement judge, things could get really spiced up.
The X Factor season begins on September 21 with auditions.
