After “X-Men: Apocalypse” aired in 2016, Jennifer Lawrence swore she was done for good with the franchise. However, fate has a funny way of working out, and the actress has now found herself committing again to the franchise as the mutant, Mystique.

Lawrence told Entertainment Weekly earlier that she doesn’t want to play Mystique again for only one reason — the blue paint. When she started out with “X-Men,” she was only 20 so she didn’t mind the fumes and toxins so much. But now that she has gotten older, she’s more concerned about what it will do to her body.

However, the pull of friendship is stronger than Lawrence’s concerns. When producer Simon Kinberg expressed the desire to direct “Dark Phoenix,” Lawrence could not say no when he asked her to reprise her role.

“I kind of [expletive] myself,” Lawrence said. “Because when I was trying to talk Simon into directing, he said something like, ‘If I direct it, you have to do it,’ and I was like, ‘Of course! Duh!’ Then they offered me the movie, and I was like, ‘[expletive]!’” She quickly added, “It was the fan base, though, too — the other reason was for the fans.”

Lawrence has been pretty busy for the past few years, and she has taken on roles that only catapulted her to fame. Aside from Mystique, she played Katniss Everdeen in “The Hunger Games,” Tiffany Maxwell in “Silver Linings Playbook,” and Rosalyn Rosenfeld in “American Hustle,” to name a few.

When asked about her next big project, Lawrence confessed that she just wants to take a break and have some fun. “I want to get a farm,” she told ELLE about her next project. “I want to be, like, milking goats.”

Lawrence also recently broke up with “Mother” director Darren Aronofsky after a year of dating. Thankfully, no drama was involved when they parted ways. “It was amicable and they are still friends,” a source told Entertainment Tonight of their split.

Prior to Aronofsky, Lawrence dated her “X-Men” co-star Nicholas Hoult and was even linked to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.
