Xbox One Vs. PlayStation 4 (PS4) Infographic Teaser
UK-based customer global customer experience management firm SDL created an infographic which predicts whether the Microsoft Xbox One or the Sony PlayStation 4 (PS4) will reign supreme on Black Friday. SDL

With the Sony (NYSE:SNE) PlayStation 4 and the Microsoft Xbox One (NASDAQ:MSFT) finally launched in North America, all eyes are on Black Friday. While it is too early to tell whether the Xbox One or the PS4 will win this generation of the console “war,” that doesn’t stop consumers from taking sides, and analysts are taking notice and predicting who has the upper hand.

Sony launched PlayStation 4 in North America on Nov. 15, selling 1 million PS4 units in 24 hours. Soon after, Microsoft fired back with the Xbox One launch on Nov. 22 in 13 countries, selling over 1 million Xbox One units.

While both PS4 and Xbox One launches have been record-setting for both Sony and Microsoft, some have questioned how significant the comparison the sales numbers between the PS4 and Xbox is. While Microsoft launched the Xbox One in 13 countries simultaneously, Sony opted for a staggered approach for the PlayStation 4, with the early North American launch on Nov. 15 and approaching European and Latin America launch this Friday on Nov. 29.

Despite the neck-and-neck appearance between the Xbox One and PS4, some analysts say one of the two next-gen consoles has the upper hand.

An infographic released by SDL (LSE:SDL), a U.K.-based global customer experience management firm, compared both the PS4 and Xbox One, scoring both consoles using their patent-pending Product Commitment Score (PCS), which is generated from its social intelligence Customer Commitment Framework (CCF), which measures customer commitment towards a product.

SDL is predicting a wide gap in PCS scores between the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with the PS4 leading with 54 points and the Xbox One trailing with 48 points.

According to SDL, the scores were impacted by a number of factors including but not limited to:

PS4’s earlier announcement ahead of the Xbox One

Sony targeting the PS4 to “hardcore” gamers and Microsoft targeting the Xbox One to families looking to have a connected living room experience

The price difference between the PS4 and Xbox One

The Target (NYSE:TGT) Xbox One early shipment foul-up, which led to early reaction videos, which went viral describing a poor out-of-box experience with long boot times and mandatory 500MB patch download.
