An ESRB listing has revealed that “XCOM: Enemy Unknown” might be coming to the PlayStation Vita. This version of the acclaimed strategy game has been retitled as “XCOM: Enemy Unknown Plus,” though nothing new has been revealed about the Vita version of the game yet.

Not much can be seen in the ESRB listing of the Vita port, aside from a summary of why the strategy game gets a mature rating. From what can be seen in the description though, it seems like the Vita version of “XCOM” will not be too different from the previous versions of the game. The “Plus” in the title implies that the port will come with all of the downloadable content (DLC) or some new features exclusive to the Vita version.

Prior to the announcement, “XCOM: Enemy Unknown” had already been available on PC, PS3, Xbox 360, iOS devices and Android devices. Game Informer considers it a bit surprising that a Vita version is only on the way now, seeing that it has already been released for mobile devices.

Gamers, who have not tried the game, should know that it is a turn-based strategy game that centers on a war between humans and aliens. Players are in charge of making equipment and controlling an army of humans, as well as upgrading the best soldiers and weapons. Plenty of strategy is needed when playing, as deaths are permanent in the game, so if players lost their best soldier, it would be best to restart the game.

“XCOM: Enemy Unknown” was a surprise hit when it first came out, garnering plenty of positive reviews for both consoles and PC. The mobile versions of the game have also been praised, since both iOS and Android versions played similarly to the more powerful versions of the game. Considering how well the mobile versions played, the Vita version may not have a hard time keeping up in terms of graphics and gameplay.

While no definitive release date has been given for “XCOM: Enemy Unknown Plus” for the Vita, its sequel “XCOM 2” comes out on Feb. 5 2016, exclusively for PC. The game is being developed by Firaxis Games and will be published by 2K Games.
