Xiaomi is speculated to be working on a small-sized smartphone that will be powered by Snapdragon 820 chipset. The rumor mill has dubbed the smartphone as Xiaomi Mi 5 Mini. A leaked photo of the smartphone has also been revealed.

Phandroid has revealed an image of a mysterious Xiaomi smartphone with a 4.3-inch display that will carry support for HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It is expected to offer a pixel density of 341 ppi. The Apple iPhone 6 that sports a 4.7-inch screen offers a pixel density of 326 ppi. The Xiaomi Mi 2 smartphone that was launched in 2012 features a 4.3-inch HD resolution screen.

The Xiaomi Mi 5 flagship smartphone that was announced in February this year is powered by Snapdragon 820 chipset. The reason why the rumor mill has dubbed the mysterious 4.3-inch Xiaomi smartphone as Xiaomi Mi 5 Mini is that it is also powered by Snapdragon 820 chipset.

Previous rumors have revealed that the Snapdragon 820 will be underclocked to function at 1.84 GHz. The SOC of the purported Mi 5 Mini will be carrying support for 3 GB of RAM. It is expected to arrive with an internal storage of 32 GB. It may not feature a microSD card slot.

The leaked render does not reveal much about the design of the phone, but it seems to have a glass panel on the front side and a fingerprint scanner below the display.

The smartphone is rumored to feature a 13-megapixel rear camera, but it will not be carrying support for optical image stabilization. The Mi 5 Mini is expected to house a 2,350 mAh capacity with support for fast charging. It is expected to be priced at CNY 1,799 ($273). Rumors suggest that the smartphone will be most available in China and it will be launched as a competitor for the small-sized Apple iPhone SE smartphone.
