It has been around 18 months since the Xiaomi Mi 4 released in 2014 and the Chinese manufacturer has not announced a successor handset for it. Meanwhile, a leaked photo of the Xiaomi Mi 5 has emerged, and rumors are now predicting that the release of the purported handset will be sooner than later.

By looking at the photo, it can be clearly observed that the Mi 5 will be arriving with very thin bezels, Gizmo China reported. Even though the rumor mill has been talking about the Xiaomi Mi 5 flagship since several months, for the first time a leaked photo of a working Mi 5 has been spotted.

The Xiaomi Mi 5 from the leaked image resembles the Xiaomi Mi Note that came out at the beginning of this year. The bezels of the Mi Note are thicker. Currently, there is no official confirmation on whether the alleged handset that is Xiaomi Mi 5 flagship smartphone or not. However, since the Chinese firm has recently released much awaited devices like Redmi Note 3 and Mi Pad 2, speculations are claiming that it may be really be the anticipated Mi 5 handset.

Lei Jun, the CEO of the Chinese firm had recently stated that it follows a pattern of releasing a flagship smartphone after a period of 12 to 18 months. Jun added that he is already using the Mi 5 as his regular handset and find the smartphone worth waiting for. Since the handset seems to be ready, it seems that the arrival of the Mi 5 is getting closer.

As far as the alleged specs of the Mi 5 is concerned, it is expected to feature a 5.3-inch Quad HD screen. It will become the first handset to arrive with Snapdragon 820 chip. Other specs of the handset include 32 GB internal storage with 3 GB of RAM, 16-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel selfie camera and a 3,030 mAh battery. The handset is also expected to be available in another internal storage of 64 GB along with 4 GB of RAM.
