The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is all set to get unleashed in China. The specifications and fresh photos of the handset have surfaced before its announcement day. Xiaomi is also pegged to announce the MUI 7 Thursday.

According to the several Redmi Note 2 pictures published on G for Games, it seems that the handset will be coming with a plastic body, It will be phablet device as it features a 5.5-inch display that supports full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

The Redmi Note 2 is powered by the MediaTek MT6795M chipset (also known as Helio X10 SoC). It features a 64-bit octa-processor that can record a max clocking speed of 2.2 GHz. It is coupled with 2 GB of RAM.

Recently, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 was found listed on the Oppomart retailer site. The product listing showed that the device is powered by Snapdragon 615 chip and features a larger 5.7-inch display. Hence, the rumor mill claims that the Redmi Note 2 may be available in two CPU variants, one powered by MediaTek chip and the other one by Snapdragon chip.

The handset will come preinstalled with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. It will be overlaid with Xiaomi’s new MIUI 7 proprietary software. The internal storage of the device is rumored as 16 GB and it will also come with support for external microSD storage.

It will be coming with a main camera of 13 MP and there will be a 5 MP camera on its front. The Redmi Note 2 will be equipped with a battery of 3,100 mAh capacity. The thickness of the device is 8.05 mm and its weight is 159 grams.

Rumors suggest that the regular model will carry a three-digit pricing whereas the high-end version is speculated to be priced at $155. Also, Oppomart has listed the Snapdragon 615 chip variant for $249.

Xiaomi is also rumored to be working on Mi5 and Mi5 Plus flagships. Both the smartphones are expected to get announced in the last quarter of 2015.
