Nearly two years after Paul Walker’s death, his “Fast & Furious” co-star and close friend Vin Diesel welcomed a second daughter with Paloma Jiménez. The pair decided to pay tribute to the late actor by naming her Pauline.

Now over a year old, Pauline has more in common with Walker, 40 when he died, than Diesel ever could have expected. During an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” to promote “xXx: Return of Xander Cage,” the actor revealed that his baby girl has a favorite car. He then suggested that this affinity was something she inherited.

“Do you know my daughter, she’s only 22 months old, has a favorite car already?” Diesel asked (via People magazine). “I think it runs in the genes.” Of course, Diesel, a longtime star of the “Fast & Furious” franchise, is also a fan of cars.

Although it’s been years since Walker’s death, Diesel thinks and speaks of him often. A little over a year ago the actor took the stage during the 2016 People’s Choice Awards after having won favorite action movie actor and favorite movie for “Furious 7.” During his acceptance speech, Diesel praised the cast as “the best,” before recalling a promise he made to Universal Studios years ago about the franchise getting to “Fast 10.” Fighting off tears, Diesel then began talking about Walker.

“I always say I’m not going to get emotional about winning these awards and I was cool while I was sitting in my seat and then they handed me two awards,” he said. “You all thought that this was your favorite film. So I think of Dom and Bryan, and I just start to think of Paul...It’s real people that are voting for these awards. It’s just pure fans saying how they appreciate our work and that means the world to me.”

“Fast 7” was the last of the films to feature Walker. The actor died before filming was complete, which forced producers to bring in his brothers Caleb and Cody Walker to fill in. The eighth film in the franchise, “The Fate of the Furious,” is set to release in April. It will be the first without Walker.

The “Fast & Furious” franchise continues to grow, though Diesel is currently focused on promoting “xXx: Return of Xander Cage.” The film releases in theaters on Friday.
