Yahoo Inc on Tuesday unveiled a new feature called Search Pad, a solution to solve a problem that many users on the Web have: how to simplify researching online.

Search Pad is a note taking application built into Yahoo! Search that automatically assists you in saving websites you visit and taking notes as you search, the company said.

It enables users to save and share notes, print, to store and organize their search results and email your notes for immediate or future use.

Google also features a tool that allows users to save and comment on search results, but it doesn’t automatically save results in the same way Yahoo Search Pad does.

Yahoo announced its Search Pad tool, formerly known as “Research Assistant”, hoping its search engine will boost up its market share from Google, while Microsoft Bing is paving its way for refining search results.

The said Search Pad is now available on Beta to users in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Brazil, Mexico and Argentina later tonight.
