After trading higher in Asian deals, the Japanese currency lost ground against most of its major counterparts during European and New York trading on Wednesday. The yen is currently trading near 132.53 against the euro and 87.02 versus the Swiss franc, down from earlier multi-day highs of 130.80 and 86.06, respectively.

Against the Australian dollar and the NZ dollar, the yen also showed weakness in New York session today. After hitting 2-day highs of 67.59 against the Aussie and 54.14 versus the kiwi in Asian trading, the yen ticked down and presently trading at 68.61 and 55.81, respectively.
