The Bank of Japan released its monetary base for March, showing that central bank's monetary base grew 6.9 percent from 6.4 percent in February. The Japanese currency showed strength against its major rivals following the report. As of now, the yen is trading at 142.57 against the pound, 130.52 versus the euro and 98.54 against the US dollar.
