Japan is set to announce February numbers for its current account total at 7:50 pm ET. The current account is expected to show a surplus of 1.071 trillion yen following the 172.8 billion yen deficit in January. The adjusted current account is seen at 517.5 billion yen after the 258 billion yen surplus in the previous month. The BoP trade balance is expected to show a surplus of 142 billion yen after the 844.4 billion yen shortfall a month earlier.

The Japanese yen held steady against its major counterparts ahead of the report. As of 7:45 pm ET, the yen was worth 148.47 against the pound, 100.74 versus the US dollar, 88.18 against the franc and 133.73 against the euro.
