Chelsea and Nick on "The Young and the Restless"
Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Chelsea (Melissa Clare Egan) find clues which suggest something new and shocking about Adam’s death on the March 23, 2017 episode of “The Young and the Restless.” CBS

His death was ruled accidental based on a gas leak that caused the cabin he was in to explode, but Adam’s widow Chelsea and brother Nick may find new clues which expose the truth about how he died on the Thursday, March 23 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

It’s been six months since Chelsea (Melissa Clare Egan) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) watched the cabin unexpectedly explode right in front of them on the CBS soap, and the issue of Sage’s inheritance has brought the pain of losing Adam back into the spotlight. As Nick discusses how talk about Adam ruined his romantic night with Chelsea with Nicki (Melody Scott Thomas), he will indicate that maybe the death wasn’t as accidental as previously thought, shocking his mother.

“If that explosion wasn’t a fluke, what caused it?” she asks in the clip.

Nick will then flashback to his conversation with Scott (Daniel Hall) after he left Chelsea, where Scott told him that Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) said her life completely turned around six months ago, and he will begin to wonder if Adam’s death had something to do with it.

Meanwhile, at the penthouse, Chelsea is telling Chloe about the money, and she will be shocked when Chloe insists she can’t keep it because of how it relates back to Adam.

“No, I’m not talking about Nick,” she says in the clip. “I’m talking about Adam. He’s linked to that money. You can’t keep it.”

However, the most shocking moment to both Nick and Chelsea will happen after he heads back to see her again, and the two continue discussing the money. When Nick picks up Connor’s toy dinosaur, the one he had with him the night of the explosion, he and Chelsea will discover a hole in it, and be shocked as they pull a device out of the toy.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
