Mariah and Devon on "The Young and the Restless"
Mariah (Camryn Grimes) gloats to Hilary (Mishael Morgan, not pictured) about her relationship with Devon (Bryton James) on the May 5, 2017 episode of “The Young and the Restless.” CBS

They both had seemingly moved on after their divorce was finalized, but Hilary’s jealousy about Devon and Mariah’s relationship may start to get the best of her on the Friday, May 5 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

After Devon (Bryton James) learned about how Hilary (Mishael Morgan) tripped Mariah (Camryn Grimes) on live television, he got into a horrific car crash which nearly cost him his life. After waking up from a coma on the CBS soap, he had forgotten everything and was devoted to making things work with Hilary, but when the truth once again resurfaced, he asked for a divorce. Since then, the process was finalized and Hilary even got control of GC Buzz as a result. She also seemed to move on from Devon by starting up a steamy fling with Jordan (Darnell Kirkwood). However, she has continued to seem upset over his finding some romance with Mariah.

Now, after the two women snark at one another on air about their relationships, and Hilary insinuates to their audience that Mariah has deluded herself about what her relationship with Devon really is, Mariah will be left fuming. Then, after a call from Devon about plans for the night, she will finally have a way to rub things in Hilary’s face and get some revenge.

“I don’t want to be late,” she says in a preview clip.

“For what?” Hilary replies.

“Just a ride with Devon on his private jet,” Mariah says with a smirk.

The news that Mariah is getting such a romantic date with Devon will bother Hilary, and will also cause her to lash out at her own new man. She could even find herself desperate to prove Devon might still want her, but that action could have unexpected consequences. Devon and Mariah’s romantic evening will go extremely well, and they may decide to finally crank up the heat and take things to a new level by making love. If Hilary winds up finding out that they’ve taken the next step, it will not only prove her wrong about Mariah being in the friend zone, but it could also be a massive wake-up call for her regarding her chances with Devon. If he has genuinely moved on with Mariah in every way imaginable, then Hilary’s chances at perhaps winning him back one day will officially be over.

Even if finding out about how they’re moving forward propels Hilary to try and make things right, and more serious, with Jordan, she could find herself not having much success. What she doesn’t know is that Jordan has a big secret about his past, and it’s one that involves knowing Chelsea (Melissa Clare Egan). And when the two come face-to-face again, they will promise one another not to spill whatever it is they each know about one another, but that connection could still be lethal to Hilary’s attempt at romance.

“So we’re agreeing not to let anyone know about our former friendship?” Jordan asks in the clip.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
