Reed on "The Young and the Restless"
Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu) is stunned when Victoria (Amelia Heinle, not pictured) tells him he can’t keep the car Victor (Eric Braden, not pictured) gave him for his birthday on the April 17, 2017 episode of “The Young and the Restless.” CBS

He got an amazing car as a gift from his grandfather in honor of his 17th birthday. But Reed will quickly feel deflated when he’s told he can’t keep the lavish gift after all on the Monday, April 17 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

At his birthday party, Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu) was ecstatic when the gift from his grandfather, Victor (Eric Braden) arrived. However, in a preview clip for the CBS show, his joy will be short-lived because when he gets home, his mother, Victoria (Amelia Heinle), will inform him that he can’t keep it.

“It kills me to do this, and I’m really sorry Reed, but you can’t keep the car,” she says.

Reed will be dumbfounded as to why his mom is seemingly punishing him and keeping him from having the gift of his dreams, and despite her assurances that the decision has nothing to do with him, the teen will still react badly and storm off in anger.

The tension the decision causes with her son will also start to play on Victoria’s emotions, because the reason she isn’t letting Reed keep the car is because of Victor, and the stress has been getting to her. She, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) are all keeping the truth about Victor’s accidental role in Adam’s death a secret from everyone, and while they’re keeping up with appearances in public, behind closed doors, they have all disowned him. Now, her son is being affected by the situation and can’t know why, and while she’ll stand firm by her decision, Victoria will also feel guilty.

Meanwhile, Nikki will return home to Victor and put him on blast for trying to buy his grandson’s support should the truth get out about what he’s done. When Victor tries to defend himself however and swears to Nikki that isn’t the case, she will snap at him and reveal that she genuinely does feel hatred towards him now.

“Oh, go to hell you lying son of a…” she says in the clip.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
