Victoria, Billy and Cane on "The Young and the Restless"

They’re headed to L.A. for their latest ad campaign, but Victoria will admit to having an ulterior motive when it comes to leaving town with Billy on the Friday, May 12 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

Victoria (Amelia Heinle) has known she wants Billy (Jason Thompson) back for a while, but was stunned on the CBS soap when she saw him kissing Phyllis (Gina Tognoni). Now, knowing they are back together, she is heartbroken that she seems to have lost her shot. However, she also knows that no matter what, she can keep Billy in her life because of the children they share and the fact that they work together in the same company as well. With these things in mind, she has cooked up a plan to turn a trip to Los Angeles that Brash and Sassy needs to take, into one where she also tries to win Billy back as well. Before she heads out of town, she will admit to her mother, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) that she hopes the trip to L.A. can change things for her.

“Lying because of dad may have cost me a chance with Billy, but I think California might just be the place to get that back,” she says in a preview clip.

Victoria and Billy had been on their way to a reconciliation with one another, but Victoria suddenly began pushing Billy away again, and he didn’t know why. When it became clear that he really wasn’t going to get another chance with Victoria like he had thought, he turned back to Phyllis and decided he was no longer going to try and be the man Victoria wanted him to be, meaning he would just be himself. Since Phyllis hasn’t held him to any ridiculous standards, she is the woman he wants to be with now.

However, what Billy doesn’t know is that Victoria pushed him away for a very specific reason. After the truth about Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) murdering Adam was revealed, the fact that Victor (Eric Braden) had actually worked with her to frame his son for a murder he didn’t commit was also brought to light. Because of that scheme, Victoria, Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Nikki have all disowned him, but they’re keeping that fact entirely to themselves. Keeping the secret about her father’s horrific actions took its toll on Victoria though, and knowing she couldn’t share it with Billy made her push him away and into Phyllis’ arms. Now though, she wants to remind Billy of everything they have shared as an effort to try and convince him that in the end, she is the woman he actually wants to be with.

Of course, Phyllis has been growing a bit worried that Victoria, and maybe even Jack (Peter Bergmann), despite saying they were fine with the romance, are both trying to find ways to sabotage it. And if she gets an inkling that she can’t trust Victoria and Billy alone together in L.A., she may take action and head there herself.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
