AOL Inc said on Thursday another Google Inc executive will join its management ranks next month as the newly independent company seeks to become the leading content company for the Web.

David Eun will become president of AOL Media and Studios on March 1, replacing Bill Wilson who is leaving the company after nine years. Eun was vice president of strategic partnerships for Google and its YouTube unit.

He had been leading Google's recent moves to explore charging for professionally made movies and TV shows on YouTube. Before Google he had been an executive at Time Warner Inc, overseeing digital distribution at all its units including AOL.

Eun will report to Chief Executive Tim Armstrong, a former Google executive who has recruited several executives from the his former employer since joining AOL last year.

Armstrong, who was appointed to lead an independent AOL ahead of its split from Time Warner in December, has said that AOL aims to be a leading content producer and distributor on the Web in a bid to attract advertising dollars.

Last month AOL bought a video production company, StudioNow Inc, for $36.5 million in cash and stock to expand its technology to create original online programing.
