Shares of Zagg Inc rose 9 percent to an 8-week high on Monday, with the mobile device accessory maker winning favorable reviews from technology blogs for its recently launched keyboard case for Apple Inc's iPad 2.

Zagg, which makes protective covers for mobile devices, earlier this month signed an exclusive licensing and distribution deal with Logitech International for its tablet computer accessory, the ZAGGmate case with keyboard.

The product, designed to protect the iPad if dropped, has an embedded wireless Bluetooth physical keyboard to allow users to type on the iPad using a keyboard. It was launched earlier this month.

We think the ZAGGmate will have much better exposure and sell-through with Logitech's distribution, said Craig-Hallum Capital analyst Mike Malouf.

The iPad's popularity has spawned a number of accessories, including protective covers and wall-mounting gear, as companies vie to get in on the strong demand for the gadgets.

The new co-branded product, priced at $99, has won favorable reviews, with blogs highlighting its easy set-up and compact keyboard.

Shares of Salt Lake City, Utah-based Zagg last traded up 6.5 percent at $8.83 on Monday on Nasdaq.
