Zayn Malik has been steadily making a name for himself in the music industry as a solo artist after exiting One Direction. His debut album “Mind of Mine” was received well by fans despite the drama that came with his abrupt departure from the famous boyband he was in with Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne. His first single, “PILLOWTALK,” broke records for having the most first-day streams of a track by a debut artist.

With all his success, there’s no stopping Malik now. The singer has revealed in an interview with High Snobiety that he is back in the studio to make new music. Malik is working with Malay, an L.A.-based producer, who helped him with his first album.

The singer is excited to explore more of his musicality and share himself via his songs. “One of the defining things about this whole experience is that there have been a lot of emotions, sometimes conflicting emotions, that I’m having to figure out,” Malik said. “I’m curious to see where it all goes from here. The not knowing is what makes it exciting, but daunting, too. And I’m appreciative of the fact that I have this opportunity. I don’t ever let myself take this for granted.”

Malik first gushed about his newfound freedom after his stint with One Direction in an interview with Billboard, saying he appreciates how he can finally truly be himself. He also said he appreciates his fans on another level now because they stayed with him, and they like him for just him and not the group he belongs to.

Malik also said that he has discovered a lot of things about himself when he went solo, like how disciplined he is.

While waiting for new music from Malik, fans can also keep an eye out for the release of his autobiography, which, according to Rolling Stone, is already available for pre-order.
