Zooey Deschanel filed for divorce from her husband Ben Gibbard, lead singer for the band Death Cab for Cutie. The couple married in 2009 and became legally separated as of Oct. 31, 2011. The New Girl star filed for divorce in L.A. County Superior Court on Dec. 27 citing irreconcilable differences.

TMZ obtained the divorce documents filed by Deschanel's lawyer. Attached to the filing was the actress' income and expense declaration.

Deschanel is apparently worth $3 million. She makes an average of $95,000 a month. Her expenses averaged at $22,550 a month. She has $1,578,000 in the bank and an additional $1,645,000 in stocks, bonds, et cetera.

The Hollywood star also has three credit cards - an American Express, a Visa and a Mastercard - each of which has a 0 balance.

Her real estate and personal property is valued at $639,000.

The document also reveals how Deschanel spends her money each month. She spends $1,000 on groceries and household items, $500 for dining out, $800 on utilities, $300 for phone and email accounts, $600 in laundry and cleaning and $2,000 for clothes.

She also donates $1,500 to charity each month.

The California native is not a bitter divorcee. It's amicable, it's mutual, a source said of the couple's decision to split. The intention is to move forward with a divorce.

On a lighter note, the actress has been nominated for a Golden Globe award for her acting chops in New Girl. She told the Los Angeles Times the nomination is like ... like cake and ice cream. And she added, I've been working a really long time as an actress -- I know how special and rare it is to get recognized like this.
