Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt Sing New Year's Duet
The "500 Days of Summer" co-stars sang a cover of the Nancy Wilson classic "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?" HelloGiggles Video Still

Whatever plans you have for New Year's Eve 2011, it's likely to be about one tenth as cool as what Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt have planned, based on their new duet for Deschanel's web site HelloGiggles.

The 500 Days of Summer stars covered Nancy Wilson's classic song What Are You Doing New Year's Eve, strumming away in a She & Him music video showing off Deschanel's ukelele skills and Gordon-Levitt's falsetto.

In a blog post accompanying the video, Zooey Deschanel tells viewers that she's been friends with JGL, about about to star in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises, ever since they met in 200 while filming Manic. When they got back together for the 2009 movie 500 Days of Summer, the pair became a endearing, cutesy power-house for rom-com fans and music enthusiasts alike.

We bonded over a mutual appreciation fro harry Nilsson and Nina Simone, Deschanel said of Gordon-Levitt. We've been lucky enough to be friends ever since.

When we did '500 Days of Summer' eight years later, we spent every lunch hour dancing to Marvin Gaye in the hair and makeup trailer Deschanel continues. We had loads of fun. I hope to do a thousand more movies with him, because he's simply the best.
