Zsa Zsa Gabor turned 95 yesterday, and her husband Prince Frederic von Anhalt threw her an elaborate bash at their Los Angeles home -- undeterred by the fact that the guest of honor was confined to her room the entire time.

von Anhalt told ABC News that Gabor, who has had numerous health issues in recent years, had a wonderful time despite the fact that she essentially was not in attendance at the party.

My wife was happy. Everything was fine. We had a good time, he told ABC News.

Gabor reportedly enjoyed one bite of chocolate cake and a visit from Larry King.

Larry King talked to her, Anhalt reportedly said. He touched her hand, and she looked at him and was happy and smiled. Larry King was singing happy birthday -- it doesn't get better than that. Larry King singing happy birthday!

An Associate Press reporter, who was apparently in attendance, described the guest list of 150 as hardly A-list and reported that von Anhalt believed his wife could feel the energy of the celebration even if she did not directly participate.

von Anhalt impersonated his wife in an invitation that was sent to undisclosed recipients, but included the online tabloid Rumorfix.com, which published a cut-off image of the invite.

For the first time I'll be celebrating my real birthday candle count, the invitation reads.

We'll have luscious buffet, live entertainment, a lake of champagne, and lots of good company.

According to Rumorfix, the invitation is signed, Zsa Zsa by Frederic.

Last year, von Anhalt celebrated Zsa Zsa's 94th birthday just hours after she was released from the hospital due to infections in her lungs and her recently amputated leg.

Gabor's younger husband released photos of the bedside celebration to the media so that people can see that she's not half-dead.

In August, von Anhalt threw a 25th anniversary bash for his wife, who -- again -- was confined to her bedroom for the majority of the evening. The Prince - as he is known - paid $68,000 for a Sunset Boulevard billboard announcing the couple's wedding anniversary and encouraged random passerby to please celebrate with us. Robert Blake, who was controversially acquitted of murdering his wife in 2005, and Sylvestor Stallone's younger brother, Frank, were among the guests.

Look, my wife is a 94-year-old, van Anhalt told KABC-TV. She should have everything she wants and she should have everything large. This big party is not for the guests, not for the media, not for me. This big party is for Zsa Zsa.

Gabor was given her last rites in 2010, after she experienced complications and an infection from an earlier hip replacement surgery. In January 2011, her leg was amputated after it became seriously infected. In 2005, she suffered a stroke, and was partially paralyzed in a 2002 car accident.

A TMZ report on the bizarre birthday bash published a photograph of the birthday girl in her bed, looking a bit worse for wear.

During the event, partygoers belted out a rendition of Happy Birthday ... even though ZZ wasn't around to hear it, the article said, because she was resting ... in peace.
