Deb isn't the only one on Dexter's trail in season 7 of Showtime's murderous hit Dexter. It's reported that former Heroes and Merlin actor Santiago Cabrera will be guest starring as Ethan Price, a charming investigative writer of true crime books about famous murder cases.

As Entertainment Weekly first reported Cabrera's addition to the cast, and points out that fans of the show don't know which murder case Ethan will be investigating since Dexter's Miami is ridden with them.

During the season six finale, viewers were left on the edge of their seats when it was revealed that Deb discovered that her step-brother had a deep dark secret - he was a murderer. Showtime released a two-minute clip of the season seven premiere which showed Dexter struggling to cover his tracks with Deb.

Santiago Cabrera formerly played painter Isaac Mendez on Heroes, and recently starred on BBC's Merlin as Lancelot. Cabrera isn't the only new addition to the season seven Dexter cast.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Cabrera will be joining newcomers Ray Stevenson and Yvonne Strahovski. Formerly of Rome, Stevenson will play Isaac, the leader of a Russian organized crime syndicate. Chuck's Strahovski on the other hand will play a character named Hannah, who is described as a mysterious woman Miami Metro turns to for assistance.

All three new additions to the cast plus Deb's unfortunate discovery makes it seem like everyone's favorite serial killer is in for a rough and troublesome season.

Dexter returns to Showtime on Sept 30.
