Five children were among 10 people killed Monday when the Taliban fired a rocket-propelled grenade in northern Afghanistan during a fight with Afghan security forces.

The RPG was fired in a civilian house in the Ali Abad district of Kunduz province, provincial police chief spokesman Sayed Sarwar Hussaini told CNN. In addition to the 10 deaths, four other people inside the house were injured.

Another rocket attack Monday targeting Afghan police killed a district police chief and four police officers in western Afghanistan, CNN said. A provincial police chief spokesman said the attack occurred in the Farsi district of Herat province.
