May Sweeps have been setting things on fire in every way except in the literal sense on “Days of Our Lives,” “Young and the Restless,” and “The Bold and the Beautiful,”--not that there isn’t still time for the dramatic storylines playing out on all three soaps to literally go up in smoke.

The drama just keeps getting juicier when it comes to the goings on in Salem, Genoa City and Los Angeles, and it doesn’t appear as though that plans on changing any time soon. In case you happened to miss a minute of the action though, here are the six biggest things that unfolded during the week of May 13.

Salem Gets A New Mayor

After a contentious race that saw dirty politics and cold schemes play out, the people of Salem officially elected a new mayor, and much to the dismay of everyone else around them, Jack (Matthew Ashford) and Eve (Kassie DePaiva) were able to celebrate as they claimed victory. Now, they’ve already started making moves, including firing Hope (Kristian Alfonso) as police commissioner—and it doesn’t appear they’re anywhere near done with their plans for Salem yet.

Haley Learns A Bombshell Secret

Part of the pair’s victory likely came because of Haley (Thia Megia) confessing her marriage to Tripp (Lucas Adams) was fake, after Eve blackmailed her with a recording that proved it, and though she tried to do the right thing by protecting her “husband,” she was still ordered to be deported. However, her leaving Salem became a big issue as everyone who loves her tried to find a way to stop it, including her sister, Melinda (Laura Kai Chen), who admitted she was really Haley’s mother. That still didn’t work, unfortunately, and Haley is still processing the news—but not while in ICE custody. As a last-minute desperate attempt, JJ (Casey Moss) ran off with her instead, and the two are now in hiding.

Xander’s Partner Is Revealed

The people of Salem don’t know that Xander (Paul Telfer) is the one who was behind Holly’s kidnapping and “death,” with the exception of Ted (Gilles Marini), who helped him pull it off. However, Xander has always had another secret partner—and now, shockingly, it appears that person is actually Nicole (Arianne Zucker). However, whether or not she is the real Nicole or someone else remains to be seen.

“Young And The Restless” (CBS)

Adam Returns To Genoa City

After being convinced by Sharon (Sharon Case), Adam (Mark Grossman) decided to give Genoa City a chance for one week, on the promise that if he had no recollection of his life there that he would be allowed to return to Las Vegas and resume the life he now knows. However, his return to town didn’t go as well as expected, as he not only failed to impress his brother, Nick (Joshua Morrow) and didn’t bond with his son, Christian but also learned the dark truth about his being responsible for Delia’s death years before. Unfortunately for him, his plan to escape town didn’t go so well either, as someone turned up at his door and shot him in the stomach before he could leave.

The Father Of Mia’s Baby Is Revealed

It was a big week for Mia (Noemi Gonzalez) after it was revealed she had suffered Braxton-Hicks contractions after confessing to Lola’s (Sasha Calle) attack to Paul (Doug Davidson). Though the chief of police has since agreed not to press charges and let her go, the incident was enough to force both Rey (Jordi Villasousa) and Arturo (Jason Canela) to decide they wanted to know once and for all which one of them was the father of her baby. Following a DNA test, the results came in, and Arturo was elated to learn he and Mia were going to be parents together. Now, the two are planning to head back to Miami to start fresh.

“The Bold And The Beautiful” (CBS)

Katie Concocts A Plan To Test Bill

After deciding she does want to give Bill (Don Diamont) another chance after all, Katie (Heather Tom) decided she still needed assurance her former husband would be faithful to her this time around. Against her sister Brooke’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) advice, Katie and Shauna (Denise Richards) worked together to see if he would fall for it when Shauna tried to seduce him. He didn’t however, admitting he was too committed to Katie, even if she didn’t want to be with him again. She was overjoyed by the news but had to then admit to him that she had set him up. Luckily for her, he has decided to overlook her scheming, and the two are finally on track to actually living out a happy life together once and for all.
