Al Gore, the former U.S. Vice President and noted environmentalist, says that recently leaked emails from East Anglia University will do nothing to counter the scientific consensus about climate change.

Asked in an interview with online magazine Slate.com how damaging the recent disclosures of e-mails were to his arguments, Gore said they don't change established conclusions.

To paraphrase Shakespeare, it's sound and fury signifying nothing. he said.

These private exchanges between these scientists do not in any way cause any question about the scientific consensus, he added.

Climate deniers have thought this is a bigger deal than it is.
