NBA legend Michael Jordan has reportedly proposed to his girlfriend of three years, Cuban-American supermodel Yvette Prieto. For Jordan, who enjoyed 11 years and six NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls in the 80s and 90s, this will be his second marriage after his 17-year relationship with Juanita Vanoy, who gave him his three children Jeffrey, Marcus and Jasmine. The couple married in 1989 and divorced in 2006.

Jordan's publicist Estee Portnoy confirmed that the 48-year-old majority owner of the Charlotte Bobcats got engaged to Prieto, 32, on Christmas eve. But besides looking beautiful -- she is a model, after all -- who is Jordan's new fiancee?

One fact that's been brought to life is that despite being a model, Prieto actually filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2002. Now that she's engaged to Jordan however, she won't have to worry about money for awhile. Jordan, whose shoe brand and iconic status have made him a multi-millionaire, is also the only ex-NBA player that owns an NBA team.

Jordan met Prieto in 2008, almost two years after his divorce from Vanoy. The two dated for about a year until they moved into a 5,500-square-foot house in Florida together in 2009. The couple has kept a relatively low-profile despite Jordan's high-profile status, but the two have been spotted at several red carpet events and Bobcats games. Most recently, Prieto accompanied Jordan for the grand opening of Michael Jordan's Steak House on Sept. 22 in Chicago.

Before Prieto met Jordan, she had a romantic relationship with Julio Iglesias Jr., the older brother of Enrique Iglesias and (obviously) the son of singer Julio Iglesias.

I can count on one hand the girls I have dated seriously. Yvette is the third and... the third time's the charm, Iglesias Jr. said. She's a fantastic girl and I like her. Aside from her beauty, which is obvious, she is loving, simple and a very good person.

Jordan didn't sign a pre-nuptial agreement in his previous marriage, and it is not known whether he will sign such a contract in his marriage to Prieto. In Jordan's 2006 divorce, Juanita reportedly received $168 million in a settlement, which was the largest celebrity divorce settlement in history at the time.

Even after he finally retired from the game he loved (after two tries in 1995 and 1998), Jordan continues to be a spokesman for many big-name brands, including Nike, Hanes, Wheaties, Coca-Cola, Gatorade, McDonald's, Chevrolet, MCI, Rayovac and Ball Park Franks. His Jordan Brand rakes in more than $1 billion in revenues, boasting athlete endorsements from the likes of Dwyane Wade, Derek Jeter and Carmelo Anthony. Jordan accounts for a whopping 71 percent of the U.S. basketball shoe market. Reebok and Adidas only account for just 2 and 3 percent, respectively.

Michael Jordan has enjoyed the spotlight since his college career as a University of North Carolina Tar Heel between 1981 and 1984. As soon as Jordan left UNC and got drafted by the Chicago Bulls with the third overall pick, he immediately inked a five-year deal with Nike that gave him $2.5 million. Throughout his illustrious career, he made money both on and off the court; at his peak, he made $50 million in sponsorship dollars alone. He made another $63 million when he returned to the Bulls in 1996, and another two NBA championships later, he retired from Chicago for the last time.

Jordan would later restart his career in 2001 by joining the Washington Wizards. Even though Jordan was pushing 40 at the time, he still managed to make the All-Star team in 2003. His final NBA game was on April 16, 2003, and enjoyed a three-minute standing ovation from both teams and the entire arena.

In his NBA career, Jordan averaged 30.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game. He was the league's MVP five times, made 14 All-Star games, and was the NBA's scoring champion for 10 seasons. He made the All-NBA First Team for 10 years and the NBA All-Defensive First Team for nine years. Jordan was named Rookie of the Year in 1985 and won the NBA Slam Dunk Contest twice. Magic Johnson famously said of him, There is Michael Jordan, and then there's the rest of us.
