Tennis star Maria Sharapova will marry long-time boyfriend Sasha Vujacic on Nov. 10th, according to Turkish media reports.

The pair, who got engaged 18 months ago, is scheduled to get married in Istanbul. Vujacic, who has played in the NBA for the Los Angeles Lakers and New Jersey Nets, currently plays for the Turkish basketball club Anadolu Efes, which is based in Istanbul.

The couple first met at a barbeque in 2009 and went public as a couple at a U2 concert later that year. When not playing basketball, Vujacic often accompanies Sharapova to her tennis matches, but is known for his nervous tendencies when watching his beloved fiancée.

In order to not upset his fiancée when she is playing, Vujacic tries to sit ramrod straight and taps his hands on his knees, according to The New York Times. He told The Times' Karen Crouse that he gets all sweaty from watching her play.

The couple has developed an intense bond because both understand what the other is going through on the court.

It obviously helps that he's an athlete and understands the perspective and the mind-set going into matches and being an athlete, Sharapova told The Times. It's quite different to many other things in life and careers.

She said that it was refreshing that Vujacic understood the need for an afternoon nap after a long morning workout. To some she said it might be considered slothful, but he fully understood the need for a little cat nap.
