Beverly Eckert, whose husband died in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, was among one of the victims aboard the Continental Express flight 3407 which crashed Thursday night on its way to Buffalo, N.Y., according to family members.

Eckert was on her way – on what would have been her husband Sean Rooney's 58th birthday - to present a scholarship in his name to a student at Canisius High School, according to ABC News.
