The new year is almost here and music festivals are already planning for 2020, starting with Boston Calling. The upcoming music event has revealed that Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers will be headlining its next festival.

Both bands, along with an additional headliner, will be among over 60 acts performing in the 2020 edition, according to Variety. The three-day festival takes place at the Harvard Athletic Complex in Allston, Massachusetts, during Memorial Day Weekend from May 22–24, 2020.

“Boston is such a great city for rock music, and we are so proud to bring some of the most important rock artists of all time to Boston Calling next Memorial Day Weekend,” said Boston Calling Events, LLC, co-founder, and Chief Executive Officer Brian Appel.

"We have worked for years to bring the Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers to the festival, and this year everything lined up perfectly. We couldn’t be happier, and will complement them with an incredibly diverse lineup of artists throughout the festival weekend.”

A limited presale on 3-Day General Admission, VIP, and Platinum passes go on sale on Thursday on Boston Calling's website. In 2020, the festival will be offering more VIP and Platinum passes in other areas and facilities at the event. More details on that will be announced in January.

The rest of the lineup performing at the festival will be listed in early 2020.

Next year marks a big one for Foo Fighters as the band celebrates their 25th anniversary since they were formed in 1994. Regarded as one of the biggest rock bands worldwide, the band is currently at work on their tenth studio album. The new year will also be big for the Red Hot Chili Peppers as they are also working on a new album, their first one in over three years. Both rock bands have won Grammy Awards for their work, with the Red Hot Chili Peppers being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.
