The major television networks, including ABC, FOX, CBS, NBC and the CW, announced their Fall 2012 primetime lineups this week. These networks also announced the shows that have been cancelled for 2012. Some of the most popular shows given the axe included Desperate Housewives, CSI: Miami, House, Unforgettable and The Firm.

With all the hype surrounding the major television networks' cancelled shows, some might have forgotten about the cable series that have been cancelled or that will be ending in 2012 as well. Cable fans must say goodbye to popular shows like Breaking Bad, Cash Cab, Damages, Eureka and Teen Mom.

Breaking Bad is one of AMC's most popular series. The Vince Gilligan-produced drama premiered in 2008, starring Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul. The two have skyrocketed to professional renown and the series has snagged six Emmy Awards. AMC announced in August that the fifth season of Breaking Bad will be its last. The fifth season will consist of 16 episodes, split into two parts of eight episodes each, airing in 2012 and 2013.

Another popular show that ended its run in 2012 was Cash Cab. The American game show aired for the first time on the Discovery Channel in 2005. The show was hosted by comedian Ben Bailey who drove a cab through U.S. cities, quizzing passengers who were offered prize money for correct answers. On April 19, 2012, it was announced that Cash Cab would not take anymore passengers after seven years on the air.

Damages, starring Glenn Close and Rose Byrne, initially aired on FX in 2007. The show was cancelled from that network in 2010, but was picked up by DirecTV for two more seasons. Season 5 of Damages will be the final season, beginning on July 11, 2012.

MTV's Teen Mom Season 4 will be the final season for the teenage pregnancy show. Maci Bookout, Amber Poortwood, Farrah Abraham and Catelynn Lowell are saying goodbye to the cameras that have followed them since they first became pregnant. The girls are supposedly relieved, a source told US Weekly. The last season of Teen Mom will premiere on June 12 at 10 p.m. EST. Teen Mom 2 is still on the air and it will be followed by a Teen Mom 3, MTV announced in February.

Here is a list of other popular cable shows that were cancelled or that ended in 2012. For a list of 100 such shows that have gotten the axe between June 1, 2011, and May 31, 2012, head over to TV Series Finale.
